On 15 February, 2013 Chinese New Year Golf Day was launched at Milnerton Golf Club in Cape Town. It is an auspicious event co-organized by the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Cape Town and the Western Province Chinese Sports Association.

                      

       The Consul General, Mr. Liang Shugen, attended the tee-off ceremony and addressed the guests at the awarding ceremony, expressing his best wishes to all in the Chinese New Year and his confidence in stronger China-South African relations.

                      

       Brophy and his partner Nusca won the Grand Prize out of 150 competitive players.
