Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Cape Town,Mr. Liang Shugen visited Hisense Atlantis Factory in Cape Town on 18th , September. Mr. Liang sent greetings to all the staff on the occasion of the Mid-autumn festival and wished the factory a better development and do a better job to the win-win economic cooperation between China and South Africa.

Chinese Hisense Corporation has partnered with the China African Development Fund to invest in this facility. The design of Hisense Atlantis Factory was conceived in October 2012. The construction started in January this year and by mid-March, the TV factory was officially commissioned. One month later, the refrigerator factory came online.

The designed annal production capacity of the facility is about 400,000 refrigerators and tv sets respectively. Chinese Hisense Corporation have invested 350 million rand, creating 500 direct jobs at the moment, and will invest one billion rand, creating 550 more jobs once the second and third stage finished. The factory has created more than 3,000 indirect jobs in the related industries.
