In the evening of Sept.24th at Barnyard Theatre, Cape Town, a grand celebration show performed by artists from Shanghai was warmly received by more than 700 audience from the local Chinese community along with non-Chinese residents. Mr. Liang Shugen, Consul General of the P. R. China in Cape Town, Mr. Dan Plato, Mr. Albert Fritz, Minister of Community Safety and Minister of Social Development of Western Cape Provincial Government, Mr. Ian Neilson, Deputy Executive Mayor of the City of Cape Town Municipal Government were among the audience.

The show was organized by the Chinese Ministry of Culture and was co-hosted by the Chinese Consulate General in Cape and the Cape Town Association for the Peaceful Reunification of China. The theatre was in full house and the show was overwhelmingly received. Items performed included Chinese minority dance, songs, traditional Erhu and Bawu, jazz music, acrobatics as well as magic, etc.
