On September 28th, Mr. Dan Plato, Minister of Community Safety of the Western Cape Provincial Government, visited the family of the Chinese victim who was shot dead in a robbery at China Town, Ottery on September 20th.

Mr. Dan Plato expressed his condolences to the family and swore to bring the criminals to justice. He said such tragedy brought tremendous sorrow onto the family. The criminals seem to care nothing about the consequences of crimes they committed. The Western Cape government will make sure they get the punishment they deserve. He had discussed the case with the Acting Provincial Commissioner of SAPS and will follow the case till its end.
