The 3rd Chinese and Overseas Chinese Badminton & Table tennis Competition Ended Fruitfully

On 29th Oct, the 3rd Chinese and Overseas Chinese Badminton & Table tennis Competition, hosted by Cape Town Scholar and Student Association, set the ball rolling in the Sport Center of University of Cape Town. Seven teams from different local communities took their parts in the competition, they were: Cape Town Scholar and Student Association, Western Cape University Student Union, All Africa Association for Peaceful Reunification of China Cape Town Branch, South African Friend Association, Cape Town Overseas Chinese Association, Western Cape Chinese Association, and Chinese Consulate General. 

                      

On the opening ceremony, Deputy Consul-General Ms.Guizhi Tang delivered a short speech. She hoped local Chinese and students could build up their bodies well, make more friends and enhance the unity. She was also happy to see the competition will strengthen the cohesive forces of local Chinese community and show a healthy and refined Chinese image. On behalf of the Chinese Consulate General, she donated R3000 to the host.

                          

After the fierce competition, Western Cape University Student Union won the Championship of badminton, the Chinese Consulate General won the Championship of the table tennis respectively.
